Founded in March 2021, Next Gen Coliving is a coliving developer and provider currently based in Preston, UK. It was founded by brothers Luke and Ben. Our mission is to:
Provide top quality, sustainable coliving accommodation in the UK
Turn housemates into family
Ensure secure returns for our investors
Whilst we are a relatively new company, we have big plans for the future and look forward to having you involved! We operate a tenant first service, as we believe this is the key to happiness and success. We want our houses to be a home, and it’s impossible to feel at home when problems aren’t solved, questions aren’t answered and help isn’t provided. By putting our tenants first, we are putting our future first, as one of the keys to any business is a happy customer.
We aim to meet UN sustainable development goals 3, 8 and 11. By creating sustainable, high quality accommodation whilst providing secure returns for our investors, we will be producing decent work and economic growth (goal 8), and creating sustainable cities and communities (goal 11). Also, by fostering communities and encouraging togetherness in and across all of our houses, we will be promoting good health and wellbeing (goal 3).

We are currently developing our 5-year plan alongside an experienced Financial Director to ensure it is error free and is something we can rely on for the years to come. For that reason, we haven’t put any information here on the webpage as it is still subject to change. If you would like any details about our 5-year plan in the meantime, feel free to get in touch and we’ll be sure to provide anything you need.
We have the following 5 year targets:
One of our main objectives at Next Gen Coliving is to ensure that the properties we are developing are sustainable and aren’t having a detrimental impact on the world around us. In 2019, the housing sector was the UK’s largest greenhouse gas emitter by industry, producing more CO2 than all cars in the UK combined. It’s clear that something needs to be done to help the world with the ongoing climate crisis, and whilst the government have taken some steps such as requiring homes to have an EPC rating of C or above, we feel more can be done.
This section will be updated with what we’re doing in our properties to help ensure we are creating housing for the future. Whether it be limiting carbon emissions, encouraging recycling, or implementing new sustainable development practices, it’ll be covered here.
"It’s clear that something needs to be done to help the world with the ongoing climate crisis, and we feel more can be done."
A special pump providing hot water faster whilst using less energy. The heating is controlled through an app for easy access.
All properties have a small garden area, where we use Seedballs to help attract specific species, to help urban biodiversity.
We will ensure that all properties have an EPC rating of C or above by 2025 - we already aim for this now!
All properties have secure bike storage available - this aims to promote the use of bicycles instead of cars!
We can talk the talk, but can we walk the walk? Take a look for yourself. You can find our completed, current, and future projects below.

This property is a beautiful, spacious Georgian terrace that’s currently set out as two flats. Both flats were tenanted since purchase and have been left that way. Whilst the property has currently got planning permission to be two flats, we have recently applied for planning permission to convert it into a 6 Bed, all ensuite HMO. This would involve extending into the loft to acquire the space for the 6th room. This gives us extra security with the property as we will have the option to leave it as two flats, convert it into a 6 bed HMO or sell it on with a planning gain.
